You understand that by proceeding, you are hiring Kenney Sloan & Vanhook, PLLC, licensed North Carolina attorneys to resolve your North Carolina traffic ticket. The scope of representation is limited and includes only a.) an email or telephone consultation/confirmation about your ticket resolution b.) a single court appearance, c.) the entry of a plea to a reduced charge, a plea to a reduced speed, or a prayer for judgment continued, and d.) the collection and payment of fines and court costs relating to your charge of speeding 25 or less MPH over the applicable limit. Representation includes one court appearance on your court date. Continuances may be included if necessary after consultation, but shall be charged at $100 per continuance. Representation DOES NOT INCLUDE a trial on the merits of your traffic ticket unless we have otherwise agreed in writing. Legal representation begins when payment is received either through checkout on this website or other means, which payment must be received forty-eight hours prior to your court date. Representation ends when the results letter or email is sent to you. Results depend on several factors including the policies of the District Attorney which are subject to change and the factual circumstances of the offense.
You acknowledge that the attorney reserves the right to decline or terminate representation if you have provided false or incorrect information, a client conflict exists or the attorney believes that under the circumstances the limited representation of this agreement is not reasonable. Termination is effective upon notice by email to you. In the event of termination, the attorney will obtain a continuance of your court date to give you time to resolve your ticket in another manner. In the event of termination, all payments for court costs and fines shall be refundable, but the attorney's fee and convenience fee shall not be refundable.
You agree that all information you provide through this website, except for personal credit card information which is sent through a secure payment gateway, is not confidential or private, such information already being a part of public records in North Carolina.
Relating to your ticket, you understand and agree to waive your right to testify in person and waive the right to confront your accusers (the officer) in person and agree to be bound by the negotiated plea or the decision of the Court as in any other case of adjudication of guilty or entry of judgment, subject to the right of appeal as in any other case. You designate and authorize the attorney to enter this waiver of appearance and plea and carry proceedings forward without your presence.
WARNING: If you have reported any incorrect or inaccurate information including a wrong court date, an incorrect charge, an incorrect name, or any other false information, the attorney reserves the right to terminate representation. If representation continues and is not terminated upon the discovery of false information, you agree to pay all costs and continuance fees necessary to resolve your traffic matter after such discovery.
You agree to conduct this transaction by electronic means pursuant to the North Carolina Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (section 66-311, et seq, N.C.G.S.).
